This week as part of Women's History Month, we introduce you to some amazing women - today Rachel Balkovec, MLB's first female hitting coach.
Rachel Balkovec became the first woman hired to be a full-time hitting coach for the New York Yankees.
After several stops in the Cardinals and Astros farm systems as a strength and conditioning coach/coordinator she moved to the Netherlands to pursue a second masters degree and worked for the Dutch baseball and softball programs as an assistant hitting coach.
In November of 2019, Balkovec became the newest member of the Yankees coaching staff as their hitting coach.
