This week as part of Women's History Month, we introduce you to some amazing women - today Bianca Smith, MLB's first female black coach.
When the Boston Red Sox hired Bianca Smith as a Minor League coach, she became the first Black woman to serve as a coach in the history of professional baseball.
It's a long way from Pumpsie Green who was the last of the barrier breakers of players to break into the Majors by the Red Sox.
“The opportunity is amazing,” Smith said in an interview on MLB Network’s Hot Stove.
Smith is currently the assistant coach and coordinator at Carroll University in Wisconsin.
