Part 6 - Music and Baseball

Part 6 - Music and Baseball

#Spotlight – This week we celebrate the men and women of the music world and their ties to the great sport of Baseball.

How about someone who started their career in the Negro Leagues, only to go on to make it into the Hall of Fame. The Country Music Hall of Fame - Charley Pride.

Pride was a pitcher for the Memphis Red Sox and Birmingham Black Barons of the Negro League, playing from 1953 to 1958. His most famous legacy as a baseball player may be the time he and another teammate were once traded for a used bus.

Singer Paul Simon is known for an amazing music career. One of his many songs is a song titled Cool Papa Bell from the Stranger to Stranger album.

Finally is a baseball player turned musician who has graced his talents on behalf of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum - Bernie Williams.
