As part of our celebration of Women’s History Month, we salute Ruth Richard of the AAGPBL.
Ruth Richard was a catcher for the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League.
Richard played for eight seasons, and was a 6x All-Star. She was also a 4x league champion.
Richard made six consecutive all-star teams until the end of the league in 1954.
In November 1988, Ruth Richard was one of the players commemorated by the Baseball Hall of Fame in a permanent display.
