This week as part of Women's History Month, we introduce you to some amazing women - today AAGPBL great Joanne Weaver.
One of the AAGPBL's most talented hitters, Joanne or Jo was one of three sisters to play in the AAGPBL for the Fort Wayne Daisies.
Jo won 3 consecutive batting titles and setting several league records. A 3x All-Star, she was Player of the Year in 1954, the year she hit .429 to set an AAGPBL single-season record.
In November 1988, the Weaver sisters received recognition with other AAGPBL legends when the Baseball Hall of Fame dedicated a permanent display to the entire league.
Sadly both Jo and her sister Betty died of ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease)
