1932 - PITTSBURGH CRAWFORDS


1932 would see Josh Gibson return to the Pittsburgh Crawfords after being enticed by Gus Greenlee to return to the team to catch for Satchel Paige.


The Crawfords were able to play a full schedule including exhibition games and unofficially Josh would be credited with 72 home runs.


1932 - Santurce Cangrejeros


Gibson would also travel to Puerto Rico to play with the Santurce Cangrejeros for a reported $250 per month.


1933-1936 - Pittsburgh Crawfords


In 1933 would see Gibson return to Pittsburgh to play for the Crawfords Negro National League. He would continue with them through 1936.

1934 would see Gibson hit a ball out of Yankee Stadium, and become a star in the league for his ability and his boyish good looks.


The 1936 season would see Gibson hit 84 homers then headed back to the Caribbean and the Cuban Winter League for the 1936-37 season.
