#Spotlight – Next is Buck Leonard, the 13x All-Star and 3x Champion was one of the leagues great players.

Once Buck retired from baseball, he went back to his native North Carolina and worked as a Truant Officer and Physical Education instructor. He would also go on to start a Realty company before serving as the Vice President of the Rocky Mount Leafs, who were the Detroit Tigers single A affiliate.

When the 1994 All Star game was held in Pittsburgh, Leonard would serve as an honorary captain at a spry 88 years old. Pictured here is his display in the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame.
