This week we pay tribute to the players of the All American Girls Professional Baseball League. Betsy Jochum, was one of the leagues stars, but decided to end her career when she was notified she had been traded in 1948.
Jochum would return to her job working for Bendix Home Appliances. She would also go back to school to earn her bachelor’s and then her master’s degrees in Physical Education from Indiana University. Jochum would teach Phys Ed at South Bend Community Schools for the next 26 years.

#Spotlight – Next is Jo Winter who completed her baseball career, then became a Tennis and Golf instructor. She would also go on to win the Arizona State Women’s Golf Championship four times before joining the LPGA and competing in 25 tournaments.
Jo would go on to tutor many golf professionals including Danielle Ammaccapane, Jerilyn Britz, Julie Stanger Pyne, Heather Farr and Alice Miller. Winter would go on to found the Arizona Sliver Belle Championship Golf Tournament and coach golf at Scottsdale Community College and Arizona State University.
