The city of Rockford, Illinois, has a long and storied history that is synonymous with the classic All-American pastime of baseball. It has been an important hub for transportation and industry since the mid-1800s. Established in 1943 as an all-female professional league during World War II, the ladies of the Rockford Peaches quickly became a fan favorite. The team was comprised of women from all walks of life. They quickly developed a reputation for being a hardworking, talented group of players who knew how to win. The Peaches won the league title four times and made six World Series appearances during their 10-year run.
